Account & Data Deletion
Last updated: 30.05.2026
This page explains how to delete your Oropen account and what happens to your data. Oropen is operated by Eleheim GmbH (Munich, Germany).
Delete your account from within the app or website
The fastest way to delete your account is directly in Oropen:
- Sign in to Oropen on the web or in the mobile app.
- Go to Settings → Account.
- Open the "Delete Account" section.
- Confirm your identity (enter your password, or confirm via your sign-in provider) and the verification code we email to you.
- Once confirmed, your account and associated data are permanently deleted.
For security, deletion requires email verification with a one-time code. You can cancel the request before it is confirmed.
Delete your account by request
If you can no longer sign in, you can ask us to delete your account and data. Email us from the address associated with your account so we can verify ownership:
Email: info@oropen.comContact form
We will verify your request and process the deletion without undue delay, and at the latest within 30 days.
What data is deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove the personal data associated with it, including:
- Your account profile (email, name/username, password, language and profile settings).
- Your learning content (decks, flashcards, notes, writing-practice corrections, review history and learning progress) stored on our servers.
- Support and feedback messages linked to your account, except where we must keep them for a legal claim.
- AI usage records linked to your account (such as usage logs and failed-request records). The shared AI response cache contains no user identifiers and is not linked to your account; its entries expire under our cache retention rules, and you can request deletion of a specific entry by telling us the exact content you submitted (see our Privacy Policy, Section 4.3).
- Your local data on the device is cleared when deletion is confirmed in the app.
What may be retained (and for how long)
We may retain limited data only where the law requires it or to protect against fraud and legal claims:
- Billing and transaction records required by commercial and tax law are kept for the statutory retention period (often up to 10 years).
- Minimal records needed to handle an ongoing dispute or to meet a legal obligation are kept only for as long as that purpose applies.
Where data is not deleted outright, it is anonymised so it can no longer be linked to you.
Data in your own Google Drive
If you enabled cloud synchronisation, your data is also stored in a dedicated app folder inside your own Google Drive account. Deleting your Oropen account does not delete that folder. You can remove it manually in Google Drive, or revoke the app's access from your Google Account's connected-apps settings at any time.
